This course was developed out of numerous requests from new artists, independent record labels and independent music publishers to help them identify, package and pitch for opportunities with brands. From landing music in brand ads and content to live sponsorships, social activations and even creating an artist co-owned brand.

 

When we wrote How Music Grows Brands our goal was to bring the brand world and the music world closer together to create more shared value partnerships. The principles in the How Music Grows Brands can be as easily applied by a brand marketer as with an artist or music rep.

 

We believe not every brand partnership needs to be between the biggest brands and the biggest artists. Developing local or regional brand partnerships can be equally as valuable is helping artists and content owners monetize and marketing their creativity.

Course Details 

How Music Grows Brands is a four (4) week course hosted by Joe Belliotti & Rebecca Jolly

Weeks 1 through 3: live one hour Zoom group sessions with Q&A (recorded if you can’t attend live).

 

Week 4: 30 minute private 1 on 1 consulting session with you and a course leader.

Week One: The Ways Brands & Music Work Together   

 

An understanding of what brands are doing with music, and why they are doing it, will help you better position the value you bring. We look at the ways brands use music across their marketing mix, how those ways increase brand relevance and drive brand objectives. Then we dive into how brands make decisions on music - the role of brand teams, creative agencies, other specialty marketing agencies and partners.

Week Two: A Deep Dive into Sync for Ads & Branded Content  

 

Getting your music into brand ads, social & digital content or used on branded playlists can generate revenue and exposure. We walk through the behind the scene processes, provide you with insights and tips on how to land these opportunities along with how to package and present your work to build relationships with brand and agency stakeholders. 

 

Week Three: An Analysis of the Brands Working with Emerging Artists 

 

While some brands use the biggest music stars in the world there are many brands who look to support emerging artists, either through programs or one off partnerships. We uncover the brands which are supporting emerging artists, share overviews of the programs to provide insights and inspiration.  

 

Week Four: 1:1 Consulting Session 

 

An opportunity to share the specifics of your vision and ambitions to receive tailored advice and recommendations. Use this time to ask any questions that will help you on your journey.
